Mount Ascot Merinos set for annual sale

Queensland Country Life

Mount Ascot Merinos and Jolly Jumbuck Poll Merinos will hold their annual on property ram sale on Wednesday January 18 with the auction starting at 1pm.

Mount Ascot are proud of this year’s line-up of rams, as they are large framed with crimpy, bright, soft and free growing wool, just what their genetics are known for, breeding towards that stylish wool and meat carcase to satisfy the markets. They have 80 single auction pens and 12 pens of three rams. Also on offer are 500 graded rams for selection.

There will be sheep and wool displays and the launch of their new prime family with the genetics to produce aggressive growth rates, large frame and high fertility, with a soft medium wool.

Mt Ascot merinos have 80 single auction pens, 12 pens of three rams and 500 graded rams for selection.

Mount Ascot Merino Stud is a family owned and run business, founded in 1956 by Reuben and Heather Brumpton. Today the stud is managed by their son Nigel and his family.

Mount Ascot is proud of its achievement and for the last 15 consecutive years has had Queensland's highest average at its annual on property ram sale, has sold the most rams at an on property ram sale and holds the top price of $8000 for a ram sold at an on property ram sale in Queensland.
