Ballatherie Poll Merinos to $4000

Offering 120 Poll Merino rams at their annual on-property sale, Geoff and Dianne Peters, Ballatherie Poll Merinos, Hillston, saw their sale average up by $429 on last year with 118 sold to a top of $4000 and an average of $1893.

Mr Peters said there were a large number of returned clients who showed consistent and spirited bidding, along with new ram buyers.

Henry Watkin from Killara Station, Hillston, bought the top two rams for $4000 and $3900, in his draft which averaged $2708.

Successful purchasers included Robert and Alison Glenn, Moulamein, who bought to a top of $3200; Bill Sheridan and Steven Horneman, Hillston, both bought to a top of $2800; Phil Harding, Condobolin, bought 18 to a top of $2700; Russell and Ginny Jones, Boree Creek, bought to a top of $2600; and Noel Ward from Ungarie bought to a top of $2400.

New client, Neil Arnold, from Morundah bought six to a top of $2400.

Phil Harding of Condobolin bought the ram auctioned for Hillston Can Assist, and the Peters family will donate $1500 to this worthy cause.

Volume buyers included Brian Thomas, Ivanhoe, buying 26 to a top of $1400.

Phil Harding, Condobolin, bought 24 to a top of $2700; Phil Hague, Lake Cargelligo, bought  20 to a top of $1200 and Bob McKeon, Hay, snapped up 16 to a top of $2200.

The sale was conducted by Landmark stud stock with Peter Godbolt taking the bids.
